Newsletters will be released by the first day of the month.

ACO/Code Enforcement Officer is Now Certified

Our Animal Control Officer/Code Enforcement Officer has recently completed all classes and training needed to become certified. This means he can now start fining people for code violations. With Summer coming, he has asked us to remind everyone to please not blow your grass clippings out in the street, this is a safety hazard for motorcyclists and could now get you a fine.

We have gotten at least 2 more reports of dogs coming out of their yard and biting people, one was of a grade school age child, playing in his own yard. Stop letting your dogs roam free. Even if you don’t think your dog is vicious, it could still be attacked by another dog. For the safety of everyone, please do not let your dogs roam unaccompanied in town.

We also have had reports of other animals, like chickens, being let loose to roam and damaging neighbor’s property and spreading trash and pooping on cars and porches. Your neighbors should not have to clean up after your animals. Control your animals and keep them on your property. Be a responsible pet/animal owner.

Spring Clean Up IS Here

Spring clean starts April 1st. The city has roll-off dumpsters open to the public at the city maintenance barn. The maintenance barn is located on North Dean A McGee across the street from the city park. You will need a copy of a current utility bill to use the dumpsters. If you hire a contractor to cut limbs or trees, they will need to haul off the debris.

Limbs may be neatly stacked at the edge of the road, not in the road, for city workers to come by and pick up.

If you have any questions, please call City Hall.

Other Random Information

  • We are now accepting applications for lifeguards for the city pool this summer. Please come to City Hall for an application.

  • The after-hours number for power outages or other after-hours utility emergencies is (405) 665-4360. This will direct you to the Garvin County non-emergency number, they will then dispatch whoever is needed.

  • Utility bills are mailed out by the first of the month. They are due by the 15th and cut off day is the 25th. The only reason these dates would change is if it is a holiday or weekend. If that happens the date is moved to the next business day. Even if you don’t get your bill, you are responsible for finding out how much it is and making sure it gets paid. I promise all the bills get printed and mailed all together. If you don’t receive your bill by the 3rd of the month, please call us and get your bill amount.

  • Vendor registrations are now open for Wynnewood’s Farm Market. The first weekend the market will be open is May 4th.  Please go to Wynnewood Farm Market’s page on Facebook and fill out the application via Google Forms.

  • There is now a Blessings Box located outside In The Spirit Liquor Store. If you need a little blessing, go check it out. Please, only take what you need so others can have some blessings too. If you are feeling generous or already blessed, please donate a little something for others. Great items to donate would be non-perishable food, shampoo, feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, baby things, etc.
